Torch corals (Euphyllia glabrescens) are a hobby favorite for their long, flowing tentacles tipped in a distinct color — on this piece, deep purple-blue stalks give way to fluorescent green tips, the striped “tiger” pattern that gives this variety its name. Torches do best under moderate lighting and gentle, indirect flow, and will extend long sweeper tentacles at night, so give it generous space from neighboring corals. Like other Euphyllia, it is sensitive right after arrival — allow it to settle undisturbed for 1-2 weeks before moving or handling.
