Blasto

Blastomussa for Sale

Blastomussa grows as a cluster of round, fleshy polyps, each on its own short tube. It is a peaceful LPS for the lower half of the tank. This page has Blue Raven and Midnight Ice Blastomussa and a WYSIWYG rainbow Blastomussa colony, photographed in our Key West systems.

Wellsi and merleti

• Blastomussa wellsi: the larger polyps, about a third to half an inch across.
• Blastomussa merleti: smaller polyps, about a quarter inch or less, packed tightly. Often sold as “pineapple coral.”

Blastomussa care, in numbers

• Light: moderate. In the wild, wellsi lives on lower slopes and in cloudy water.
• Flow: low.
• Placement: bottom of the tank.
• Feeding: optional. They take fine plankton.
• Neighbors: peaceful. Keep them away from corals with long sweepers.

How it ships from Key West

Blastomussa ship UPS Next Day Air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only, so no box sits in a hub over a weekend. We ship to the lower 48. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
