A torch coral is usually the first coral someone falls for. Long tubular tentacles ending in a rounded tip, hanging and flowing in the current instead of clustering, and under blue light the tips fluoresce hard enough to name morphs after — 24K Gold, Dragon Soul, Holy Grail. Each head sits on its own corallite tube, which is why torches are sold by the head and why a colony can be divided cleanly.
The genus is Euphyllia glabrescens. If the tentacle tips are flattened into a T you are looking at a hammer, and if each tip splits into several branches it is a frogspawn — the three get blended constantly, and the tip shape is the whole identification.

The space matters more than the numbers. Torches sting, and their sweepers come out after dark and reach further than the coral looks capable of. Give every head at least four inches of clear water in all directions before you glue anything nearby.
When a torch will not open
A torch that stays retracted is telling you something specific, and the causes sort in a fixable order: flow that is too direct, light that is too strong for the spot, nutrients sitting at zero, an alkalinity swing, or a neighbor close enough to fight with.
