Packing and shipping are charged per box, not per coral. The $15 packing fee covers the insulated box, heat or ice packs and the time it takes to pack live coral safely; overnight UPS is the carrier cost of getting it out of Key West alive. A box typically holds around five small frags, so adding compatible corals to the same shipment usually will not add another packing or shipping charge. Larger colonies, species that cannot share water, or extreme weather can require a second box. Orders over $399 ship free.

Florida: $30 overnight livestock shipping. Qualifying Florida livestock orders under 6 lb ship overnight for a flat $30, plus the $15 packing fee. Heavier or mixed shipments use our standard overnight rate, and orders over $399 ship free either way.

Livestock ships to the continental US. Alaska needs a shipping quote before you order, and we cannot ship coral to Hawaii — get in touch first.

Description

This colorful coral gets its name from its vibrant watermelon-like appearance, with shades of pink, green, and red. Language: Psammocora is a genus of stony corals commonly found in the Indo-Pacific region. The name Watermelon Psammocora reflects its unique coloration, resembling the inside of a ripe watermelon. Features:

  • Thrives in high light and moderate water flow
  • Easy to care for, making it ideal for beginner and experienced aquarists
  • Fast-growing — it spreads across adjacent rock as a thin encrusting sheet
  • Hardy and resilient, able to withstand fluctuations in water conditions

Psammocora polyps are tiny and velvety, and under flow the whole surface shimmers — movement you normally only get from much fussier corals. Its ability to thrive in various water conditions makes it a versatile option for both novice and experienced hobbyists. Its unique appearance adds visual interest to the underwater landscape, making it a favorite among enthusiasts. For those seeking a low-maintenance yet visually striking coral, the Watermelon Psammocora is an ideal choice. Its resilience and vibrant colors make it a valuable addition to any saltwater aquarium, and its fast growth ensures that it will continue to enhance the beauty of the reef for years to come.
