Convict Chalice Mini Colony (3.5″)

Description

You are buying the exact coral in the photo. This is a 3.5″ Convict Chalice mini colony. Under blue spectrum reef lighting, bright green ridges run across the plate in tight, wavy rows, split by dark valleys that read almost black. Small blue mouths are scattered over the surface, and fine blue lines trace the ridges. Conditioned in our Key West systems and photographed in our showroom.

About Chalice Corals

Chalices are LPS corals that grow outward in thin, layered plates. This is a mini colony, so you get an established plate with several mouths already working instead of a small single-mouth frag. The high-contrast green and black striping is what sets this one apart.

Care Guide

Moderate care. Chalices reward lower, diffused light and regular feeding with steady plating growth and stronger color.

• Lighting: Low to Medium — PAR 50–150, diffused. Too much light can wash out the color.
• Flow: Low to Medium — gentle flow across the plate keeps it clean.
• Placement: Lower rockwork, angled so the plate can spread.
• Feeding: Medium — small meaty foods or coral pellets once or twice a week.
• Aggression: Semi-aggressive. It puts out sweepers at night, so give it a few inches of space.
• Water Parameters: Temp 76–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026, Alk 8–9 dKH, Ca 420–440, Mg 1300–1400. Stability matters more than exact numbers.
