Description
The Red Sea REEFER Deluxe Peninsula 500 G3 pairs the G3 chassis with Red Sea’s ReefLED G2 lighting fitted and mounted at the factory, so the lighting is matched to the tank instead of chosen separately after the fact. Its display holds 108.8 gallons, the sump holds 28.2, and the whole system carries 137.1 gallons of water on a 49.2 by 25 inch footprint. This configuration ships with 2x ReefLED 170.
This is a peninsula build, so the glass is finished on three sides and the overflow and plumbing are carried at one end. It is meant to come off a wall or divide a room, not to sit flat against drywall.

Volumes are the manufacturer’s figures for the system as built. Actual water volume in your room will be lower once rock and sand go in. Total height is measured to the top of the tank with it standing on its cabinet, so measure your ceiling and any shelf above the tank before you order.

Deluxe is the middle option. You get lighting handled and correctly mounted, and you still choose your own skimmer, roller and flow. If you already own lights you like, buy the standard REEFER instead and put the money into filtration.
Two ReefLED 170 units bring more punch per fixture than the 115s, which is the right call on a deeper tank where the light has to reach the sand bed.
Will it fit, and is it the right size for you
Just over four feet long, 25 inches deep, viewable from three sides, 108.8 gallons in the display. This is the size we get asked about most for open-plan rooms, because it separates a kitchen from a living area without closing either one off. The aquascape has to work from three angles, which is harder than it sounds and worth planning on paper first.
What goes with the REEFER Deluxe Peninsula 500 G3
A lid is the one accessory we tell people to buy at the same time as the tank, not later. Every wrasse, every anthias and most of the tangs worth owning will find the one gap you left open. The one cut for this exact model is the Red Sea mesh lid for the REEFER Peninsula 500 G3.
- Skimming and mechanical filtration: the sump is cut for the REEFER DC 300, REEFER DC 600, REEFER DC 900 and the ReefMat 250, ReefMat 500, ReefMat 1200. Which size you want depends on how heavily you plan to stock and feed the tank, not only on the water volume, so call us and we will size it against your actual plan rather than a chart.
- In-tank flow: ReefWave 25 and ReefWave 45.
