Description
You are buying the exact coral in the photo — our TUG Crystal Ember Wall Hammer (Euphyllia ancora), an XL Conditioned in our Key West systems frag photographed under blue spectrum reef lighting. Densely packed hammer tips glow vivid teal-blue over soft lime undertones that absolutely explode under actinics.
About Wall Hammer Corals (Euphyllia ancora)
Wall-forming Euphyllia grow in a sweeping, interconnected ridge rather than separate branches, building a lush, flowing canopy of tentacles that moves with every pulse of flow. Conditioned in our Key West systems wall hammers like this one are dramatically hardier than wild imports, which have a poor survival record — this piece has been stable and expanding in our systems.
Care Guide
A statement LPS for an intermediate reefer — give it space, moderate everything, and let it sway.
- Lighting: Medium — PAR 100–200.
- Flow: Medium — gentle, indirect, enough to keep tentacles moving.
- Placement: Mid rockwork with several inches of clearance.
- Feeding: Medium — mysis or LPS pellets 1–2× weekly.
- Aggression: High — long sweeper tentacles; give it real space.
- Water Parameters: Temp 76–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026, Alk 8–9 dKH, Ca 420–440, Mg 1300–1400. Stability matters more than exact numbers.
