Packing and shipping are charged per box, not per coral. The $10 packing fee covers the insulated box, heat or ice packs and the time it takes to pack live coral safely; overnight UPS is the carrier cost of getting it out of Key West alive. A box typically holds around five small frags, so adding compatible corals to the same shipment usually will not add another packing or shipping charge. Larger colonies, species that cannot share water, or extreme weather can require a second box. Orders with $349 or more in qualifying livestock ship free.

Florida: $30 overnight livestock shipping. Qualifying Florida livestock orders under 6 lb ship overnight for a flat $30, plus the $10 packing fee. Heavier or mixed shipments use our standard overnight rate. Orders with $349 or more in qualifying livestock ship free.

Livestock ships UPS Next Day Air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so nothing sits in a facility over a weekend. We ship livestock within the continental U.S. only. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

Description

Mummy Eye Chalice Frag — 1″ | Echinophyllia sp is a chalice coral whose color and tissue condition are best supported by diffused light, gentle indirect flow, and a stable position where detritus cannot collect on the surface.

Chalice Coral Care

Chalice corals respond best to stable reef conditions. Acclimate this coral gradually to the stated light range and avoid a direct powerhead stream. Angle the colony or frag so water can carry debris away without lifting or abrading the tissue.

Lighting Very Low to Low — PAR 30–100. Use shaded or indirect light; avoid intense direct lighting.
Flow Low to Moderate — enough to keep the surface clean without blowing tissue against the skeleton.
Placement Bottom to mid-tank, ideally in a shaded area or under a ledge.
Aggression Moderate to High — maintain at least 4–6 inches of space from neighboring corals.
Feeding Primarily photosynthetic; offer small, appropriately sized meaty food after feeding tentacles extend
Care level Intermediate
Water Parameters Salinity 1.025–1.026 · Temperature 76–78°F · Alkalinity 8–9 dKH · Calcium 420–440 ppm · Magnesium 1300–1400 ppm

Placement and Acclimation

Start near the lower end of the stated range and increase light only gradually. Watch for full tissue coverage, stable coloration, and the absence of exposed skeletal edges. Keep the coral clear of neighbors that could contact its nighttime sweepers.

Consistency matters more than chasing a single number. Keep alkalinity and salinity steady, remove settled debris gently, and make one placement or lighting change at a time.
