The $10 Box & Handling Fee is charged per box, not per coral. It covers the insulated box, heat or ice packs and the time it takes to pack live coral safely. UPS Next Day Air is one flat livestock shipping charge per order, the carrier cost of getting it out of Key West alive. A box typically holds around five small frags, so adding compatible corals to the same shipment usually will not add another box fee or change the shipping charge. Larger colonies, species that cannot share water, or extreme weather can require a second box. Orders with $349 or more in qualifying livestock ship free.

Florida: $30 UPS Next Day Air livestock shipping. Qualifying Florida livestock orders under 6 lb ship UPS Next Day Air for a flat $30, plus the $10 Box & Handling Fee. Heavier or mixed shipments use our standard UPS Next Day Air rate. Orders with $349 or more in qualifying livestock ship free.

Livestock ships UPS Next Day Air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so nothing sits in a facility over a weekend. We ship livestock within the continental U.S. only. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

Description

A sand sifting star spends its life under the surface of the sand eating what it finds there. In an established tank with a deep bed, it keeps the sand light and clean and stops it packing down.

The honest caveat: it eats the small life living in the sand, and in a small or new tank it will run that out and then starve. We would not put one in anything under 50 gallons, and not in a tank that has been running less than six months.
