Description

Almost WYSIWYG Blue & Orange Discosoma Mushroom – 1 Polyp. This is a rare coloration for a Discosoma. The disc is broad and orange with a ruffled edge, and deep blue-violet spots cover it from edge to edge. The spots sit in rings around a small, pale mouth, with a fine radiating texture running between them. Color will shift a little depending on your lighting.

How Almost WYSIWYG works: The colony in the photo has three polyps, and we sell them one at a time. You receive one polyp from this exact colony, so it will look very close to what you see here.

Reefers keep coming back to Discosoma for good reason. It is one of the easiest corals you can keep. Once it settles in, it stays put, and it opens wide under modest light. Finding one in a color like this is the hard part.

Care Guide

Lighting: Low to medium — PAR 50–120. Acclimate gradually after shipping.
Flow: Low, gentle flow so the disc can open fully.
Placement: Lower rockwork or the sand bed.
Compatibility: Peaceful, but it can spread across rock; keep it from touching stony corals.
Feeding: Optional. It takes small meaty foods dropped on the disc.

Conditioned in our Key West systems.
