Description
Peppermint shrimp are what most reefers reach for when aiptasia shows up, and a group works where one shrimp usually does not. They hunt at night, they get into the rockwork where a scraper cannot, and they will not touch your coral.
The honest part: not every peppermint shrimp eats aiptasia. It varies animal to animal, and that is exactly why we sell them in threes and sixes rather than one at a time. A group raises your odds. Nobody can promise you a shrimp that eats a particular pest, and anybody who does is guessing.
Two things that will decide whether this works. Do not overfeed the tank while they are on the job, because a well fed shrimp has no reason to go after aiptasia. And add them at lights out, which is when they come out and start working.
