Orange and Purple Yuma Mushroom (Approx. 3″)

Description

You are buying the exact coral in the photo: the Yuma that fills the frame. The coral with long tentacles in the lower left corner is not included. This Yuma is approximately 3″ across. Under blue spectrum reef lighting the disc is packed with round lavender-purple bubble tips, larger toward the rim. The outer ring of longer tentacles fades from purple to warm orange at the tips. Conditioned in our Key West systems.

About Ricordea Yuma (Ricordea yuma)

Ricordea yuma is an Indo-Pacific mushroom coral whose disc is covered in short, rounded tips instead of a smooth surface. Two-tone Yumas, with one color on the disc and another on the rim, are some of the most wanted. On this one the purple center and orange-tipped rim give it a glowing edge that stands out in a mushroom garden.

Care Guide

Easy care. Yumas do best in low to moderate light and stable water.

• Lighting: Low to Medium — PAR 50–150. Strong light can wash out the purple.
• Flow: Low — gentle flow lets the disc stay fully open.
• Placement: Sandbed or lower rock, out of direct high light.
• Feeding: Low — it lives mostly on light. A small piece of mysis or a pellet placed on the mouth once or twice a week helps it grow.
• Aggression: Peaceful. Leave a little room around it, because a healthy Yuma will slowly spread.
• Water Parameters: Temp 76–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026, Alk 8–9 dKH, Ca 420–440, Mg 1300–1400. Stability matters more than exact numbers.
