Anacropora for Sale

Anacropora looks like a delicate Acropora and grows like a weed. It is one of the best first SPS corals you can buy. This page has Neon Green and Tropicana Anacropora, plus a Green Goblin and Tropicana combo frag, photographed in our Key West systems.

Anacropora or Acropora?

Both are in the same family. The difference is at the branch tips: Acropora has one larger polyp at the very tip, and Anacropora does not. Anacropora branches are thinner and more open, a bit like a more branching version of a Montipora setosa.

Anacropora care, in numbers

• Light: 100 to 300 PAR. It does not need Acropora lighting and can sit lower in the tank.
• Flow: medium to strong. Add flow as the colony thickens so the middle does not go dead.
• Water: steady alkalinity, calcium and magnesium.

Dip it

Anacropora can carry flatworms. They come off easily in a coral dip, so dip every new piece before it goes in.

How fast it grows

Very fast. A frag fills out into a branching colony quickly in a stable tank, which is why it is propagated so widely.

How it ships from Key West

Anacropora frags ship UPS Next Day Air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only, so no box sits in a hub over a weekend. We ship to the lower 48. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

• Shipping charge: $30 for qualifying Florida livestock orders under 6 lb, and $50 elsewhere in the lower 48. The shipping charge is per order.
• Free livestock transportation: on qualifying livestock subtotals of $349 or more. WYSIWYG pieces count toward the $349. Dry goods do not.
• Box & Handling Fee: $10 per livestock box, and it still applies on orders with free livestock transportation. A box carries up to 6 lb of packed livestock. Heavier orders go out in additional boxes, each with its own $10 fee.
• Live arrival: if something arrives dead, photograph the animal inside the unopened bag within 4 hours of UPS delivery confirmation and send it with your order number.
