Description
The Aquaforest Proten Reef Blue is a slim LED strip weighted hard toward the blue end – most of its diodes sit in the 400, 420 and 460 nm range, with just a dash of 680-700 nm deep red. That is the spectrum corals actually use for photosynthesis, and it is what lights up the greens, oranges and reds in coral fluorescence.
Pick Reef Blue if you run your tank on the deep-blue actinic look and you are growing coral first, appearance second. It works as a standalone fixture on smaller systems or as a supplement alongside a whiter light to push more usable blue onto the reef. It is not built to be a bright white daylight bar – that is the Marine version’s job.
